This month, local organizations all over the country are taking action as part of the national Take Back the Land movement. Local Action Groups are educating, organizing and taking direct action to support families facing eviction; to open empty, foreclosed homes for people without housing; to assert the right to occupy vacant government properties and land, and to demand that those forced to leave their long time communities have the right to return.
Tonight on Circle A Radio, we'll hear from some of the groups participating in the national campaign to elevate housing to a human right. We talked with Julie McCurdie from Right to Survive, Keith Sadler from the Toledo Foreclosure Defense League, Holly Krig of the Chicago Anti Eviction Campaign, Z! Haukeness with Operation Welcome Home, Zakia Henderson-Brown from Families United for Racial and Economic Equality, Mayaba Liebenthal of Survivor's Village, and Steve Meacham from City Life/Vida Urbana.
