X RAY VISIONS is An in-depth account of one of the most important cultural epicenters in Pacific Northwest history, X-RAY VISIONS tells the story of Portland's X-Ray Cafe, a unique, all-ages nightclub that hosted bands like Green Day, Crash Worship, Nation of Ulysses, Neurosis, Smegma, Poison Idea, Everclear, and virtually every touring act from 1989 to 1994. The X-Ray put Portland on the map as THE epicenter for alternative arts and weird culture. With its "anything goes" aesthetic, a punk band, a circus act, toddlers banging on things, language classes, 25 cent advice sessions, and a spanking evangelist might appear on a single night's bill.

"My Rock and Roll Fantasy traces a friendship that in itself was a representation of Portland in the early 90's. It captures a time when this widely hyped and quickly gentrifying city hit its stride as a magnet for raw creativity that resembled a 'New York in the 70's' scene, when unrestrained energy and an unleashed, passionate DIY ethos intersected with cheap rents and a still-extant pioneer spirit to create a dynamic, explosive arts boom that had little to do with galleries and everything to do with an intensity of personal expression." -Dave Cantrell, X-Ray radio, KZME, Stereo Embers.
