More than three decades ago Urban Naturalist Mike Houck coined the term Greenfrastructure to describe the important role that urban green spaces play in providing climate resilience. Green infrastructure emphasizes the importance of viewing our parks, forests, wetlands and even parking strips as critical infrastructure in the same way we view sanitation, sewage, waterworks, bridges and roads.
On this episode of Locus Focus we talk with Mike about how in the face of climate change, we have to once again embrace green infrastructure, particularly if we want to adapt to climate change.
