Lots to be harvested, but when is the time to harvest for peak tastiness? Plus a primer on honey and honey harvesting.

Host Glen Andresen and co-pilot Jim Gilbert are back for another live show! Lots of fruit and veggies to be harvested for the next two months, and we offer tips on how to harvest fruits and veggies at their tastiest peak. Plus, we invite listeners to call us to report on any experiements they are conducting this year in the garden. And a little primer on what honey is and how it is extracted from the hive and then the comb.

As always, we'll have a new Plant of the Month (peaches) and a new Garden Stumper (the winner gets a free sharpening of a hand tool from Cully Farm Store in Northeast Portland!). Plus, our Dirtbag Dictionary term is "advantitious shoot." And, of course, what Glen is trying to understand this month.

Don't forget, if you have a gardening question, and don't want to call in, you can always email us at thedirtbag@kboo.org -- we'll answer your question on the air during the next show.

The Dirtbag, a garden variety show... Listen. Laugh. Learn.
