2021: The Year in Music

 

Arguably 2021 was better than 2020, but that's not saying much. Still so many problems in this old world.

But there is always music to brighten our spirits and lighten our hearts.

Here is a collection of new music from 2021 that I found uplifting, engaging, amusing, and fun.

Featured artists include local favorites Kate Power and Steve Einhorn plus Norman Blake, Robin and Linda Williams, Alison Krauss and Robert Plant, Rhiannon Giddens, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Dar Williams, Sarah Jarosz, Valerie June, Davis Crosby and Neil Young.

We lost more great artists in 2021, and this show closes with a musical tribute to Nanci Griffith and Bill Staines.
