A group of climate activists in Copenhagen are on the 33rd day of a hunger strike for climate justice.
They are demanding a binding agreement to fund climate adaptation and mitigation activities in developing nations with at least one hundred ninety five billion dollars per year. They also demand an end to overconsumption, deforestation and the use of fossil fuels.
Yesterday two Portland activists joined the fast in solidarity, sitting in Pioneer Courthouse Square and calling for climate justice locally and globally. KBOO’s Jenka Soderberg spoke with one of the Copenhagen hunger strikers, Anna Keenan from Australia.

The picture is of Michael Morphett, who ended his Climate Justice Fast! yesterday, after 32 days. His weight had dropped to under 45kg, representing a dangerous fall below %20 of his normal bodyweight, and the risks of going further were simply too much.
