To make a food co-op grow in Lents, come to the Lents Grocery Co-op Community Meeting tonight, Tuesday May 26, at 6 p.m., at Lents Seventh-day Adventist Church, 8835 SE Woodstock Blvd; on the web at lentsgrocery.org.

 

There’s a free walking tour of the Hollywood District led by author Laura Foster tomorrow, Wednesday May 27, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.  Meet at the Hollywood Transit Center, northeast Halsey and 42nd Aves in Portland, at 5:15 p.m.  Call 503 813 7475 for more information.

 

The Socialist Party of Oregon hosts a Public Forum tonight Tue May 26 from 8:30pm –10pm at the Red&Black Cafe 400 SE 12th Ave.  Speakers, free, informal.  Meets every fourth Tuesday.  For more info call Walt Brown at 503-636-4150

 

International Workers of the World show radical movies every last Tuesday of the month in the main hall of Liberty Hall, 311 N. Ivy Street, Portland, from 7 to 10 p.m.. Cheap entertainment. Food and friends. 

 

Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church conducts weekly DivorceCare For Kids programs to help children heal from the pain of divorce and separation.  Everyone is welcome each Wednesday evening at 7 pm to 8 pm at Mt Tabor Presbyterian Church. 5441 SE Belmont Street.  Information and links are at the Church website: www.mttaborchurch.net

 

There is a free sack lunch concert Wednesday May 27 at noon, at the Old Church, 1422 SW 11th Ave in Portland.  Kang Mi Kim, soprano with husband Woong-cheol Park, tenor from Seattle, with Michael Barnes, piano. Students of Ellen Faull, they received their doctorates in voice at the University of Washington.
