Stan Mack is one of the original comics journalists. In the 1970's he left a steady job as Art Director of the New York Times Sunday Magazine to blaze a trail in the world of alternative comics. His documentary-style strip Stan Mack's Real-Life Funnies chronicled the diverse and lively street scenes of New York City and boasted the tagline "All Dialogue Guaranteed Overheard."
Half a century later, Stan Mack is a celebrated author of graphic histories, memoirs, and young-adult and children's books, as well as an illustrator and storyteller for The Village Voice, Adweek, and the National Lampoon. And he still seeks out and publishes the stories of ordinary Americans with his latest project These Days: Stan Mack's Mini-Real-Life Funnies.
