n this episode, Chris interviews Devon about what it is to be good. We consider questions such as, "What is it to be good and who are we being good for?" "Is there an opposite of being good?" Some of the ideas we discuss are being good as a type of performance, so as not to look bad, or to insure our tenuous membership in a superficial community, especially the internet. As always, we consider what the different body sensations of being good is, versus something else, like being kind, or taking action. Devon suggests that to be good is to pervert the authentic desire to be there for other people; it spins this desire around and is ultimately about feeling safe and protected. Ultimately, being good seems to have some connection to identity or ego, and we discuss how we might honor ourselves and our authentic desires to help without being good.
