Tonight's edition of Talking Earth features local Northwest poets Eric Wayne Dickey and Dan Raphael.
For over 3 decades Dan Raphael has been active in the Northwest as poet, performer, editor and reading host. The Closer You Get to Nowhere, his 20th book, will be published this winter by Last Word Press, which did Everyone in This Movie Gets Paid in June of ‘16. Raphael is known for the energy of his performances of his highly imaginative and driven poetry in places like Bumbershoot, Cascadia Poetry Festival, Powell’s Books, Wordstock, Red Sky, Reed College and Portland Jazz Festival. He is prose editor of Unlikely Stories, and every Wednesday writes and records a news poem for the KBOO Evening News.
Eric Wayne Dickey’s poems and translations have been published in Rhino, West Wind Review, and International Poetry Review. He's received a grant from the John Anson Kittredge Fund and is a Vermont Studio Center Fellow. He co-edits Pacifica: Poetry International, formerly To Topos.
