As we round out the final year of our program (in its current incarnation) we were met with a wonderful surprise, thanks to fellow KBOO host Diablo, of The Sacred Circle "TEMENOS" (p.s. His show is on Thursday nights/Friday morning at 12 am). He is one of the biggest appreciators of Prince Rogers Nelson we know, and asking us to take part in a conversation having to do with what is most likely his favorite artist of all time, does mean a lot.
The group Mr. Nelson founded, The Revolution, decided to reform in order to honor him after his physical transition. They are using the opportunity not only to connect with those who have loved them over the years; they are also using this time as an opportunity to heal from the major loss they encountered.
And with this, we had a wonderful opportunity (with Diablo) to speak with Matt Fink (aka 'Dr. Fink'), one of the keyboard players (with Lisa Coleman) in The Revolution. Fink was one of the original members of the group, and he continued to perform with Prince after the group disbanded. The current incarnation of the band (with Fink, Coleman, Wendy Melvoin, BrownMark and Bobby Z) are on tour, and they are performing at the Roseland (in PDX) on the 14th of July.
