Interviews with author AV Crofts (Meet Me at the Bamboo Table) and activist Nikki Silvestri

We are living through a time when calls for isolationism and closing the borders is reaching fever pitch. In an attempt to find solidarity and community with other human beings we can turn to one thing everyone experiences: food. In her new book, "Meet Me at the Bamboo Table" writer AV Crofts recounts memories of meals and shows that food not only nourishes the body, it also nourishes society, community, and our whole selves.

I will also be featuring a conversation with activisit Nikki Silvestri. Nikki is the former executive director of Green for All and Peoples Grocery in Oakland. I talked with her after her keynote speech at Organicology

I'll also be talking with permaculturist Marisha Auerbach from Permaculture Rising about the garden. When are in the most important period of the growing season: garden planning time. Listen in for some tips to maximize your annual garden.

This is a Membership Drive episode of the Food Show! If you call in and become a member you will have the chance to receive AV Crofts book, "Meet me at the Bamboo Table." You can read amazing stories expanding your multicultural food knowledge while helping support an amazing community media organization. Thanks for supporting KBOO!
