Health and Health Care Forum with Roberta Hall
The City Club of Portland and the Oregon chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program teamed up on August 1 to present a panel discussion on health care reform. Panelists were three distinguished doctors: John Kitzhaber, known for re-organizing Oregon’s Medicaid program while serving as a State Senator and as Governor; Donald Berwick, former administrator of the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; and Alisha Moreland-Capuia, executive director of the Avel Gordly Center for Healing at OHSU. Dr. Paul Gorman, assistant Dean for Rural Medical Education at OHSU, moderated.
Produced by Roberta Hall, this program includes lengthy excerpts, a little discussion, and commentary. Thanks to Metro East Community Media for sharing the audio of the video recording made at the event, and Portland City Club, Dr. Sam Metz, Oregon Physicians for a National Health Program, and the participants. The full video will be available through the website of Oregon Physicians for a National Health Program.
