A podcast featuring audio drama, dark comedy, & other unexpected vignettes from Corvallis & beyond.
This is episode 9 of The Spirit of the Forest, an audio drama / dark comedy created by Corvallis resident Dan Crall, which reflects upon the sadness, absurdity, and normalcy of modern life.  It's a blend of fiction and reality.

This episode features various audio collages and sounds from the Saturday market and Lane County Courthouse vicinity in Eugene, Oregon, including chance rhythmic phrases conceived by the strange, wandering soul of a woman named Sydney.  We also take a walk in the woods with a high school student and the school district counselor to discover the true joy brought about by supposed abuse, we hear ideas on classical music fans VS the "art rock" crowd, and we escape into a medium-sized bag of cicadas recorded in Central Indiana back in 2004, amidst other vignettes.

Featuring the acting talent of Adam Hughes and Dan Crall, the voice of Sydney, as well as music from Veil of Secrecy, Foxxy Newport, and a number of public drum circle participants, this episode was mostly recorded in early April of 2015 in Corvallis and Eugene, Oregon.
