Johanna Brenner on 21st Century Revolutionary Socialist Feminism
Frann Michel reads from an article written by Johanna Brenner for the webzine of Solidarity-US. Brenner starts by arguing that "Socialist-feminists start where most feminists begin: the emancipation of women must come from women ourselves, but cannot be achieved by ourselves. From this starting point, socialist-feminists are especially interested in building inclusive movements organized by and for working class, indigenous, and rural women." She examines socialist feminist projects that not only help women, but strike back at the neoliberal re-ordering of social priorities away from care.
