On Pastures of Plenty this week (January 8th, 2025) we feature 90 minutes of some of the best guitarists in all of Folk and Bluegrass music.
In addition to Doc Watson, whose blindness only seemed to strengthen his talent, we feature the coffeehouse excellence of Jefferson Airplane/Hot Tuna alum Jorma Kaukonen, as well as Dutch Blues/Roots veteran Hans Theessink with his buddies Donovan and Arlo Guthrie. We've also got the laid back groove of J.J. Cale, and the virtuosity of John Sebastian, Peter, Paul & Mary and David Bromberg. In addition, we have Scottish folkie Dougie MacLean, Nashville session veteran Bryan Sutton, well traveled guitarist Jim Lauderdale and David Holt, who played with Doc Watson for a dozen years after his son Merle passed away. Finally, we have Darin & Brooke Aldridge, a husband and wife team from North Carolina who perform a couple of great tunes by Australia's Kasey Chambers.
