There’s nothing like voices blending in sweet harmony. This program features the DNA entwined harmonies of the voices of sisters, the sweet harmony of women’s voices, the complimentary blend of men’s and women’s voices, and the genetic harmonies between parents and their children.
Featured artists include sister acts the Burns Sisters, T sisters, Walela, Larkin Poe, and Joseph; women’s harmonies from the Wailin’ Jennys, Good Harvest, and Straw into Gold; male and female harmonies from Clive Gregson and Christine Collister, Richard and Linda Thompson, Pharis and Jason Romero, John Prine and Iris Dement, Portlanders Tony Furtado and Jenny Schneiderman, Kate Power and Steve Einhorn, and Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer. Tracy Grammer and Jim Brumberg apply their harmonies to a lively version of Bohemian Rhapsody. The program ends with duets between Johnny Cash and his daughter Roseanne Cash, Loudon Wainwright III and his daughter Lucy Wainwright Roche, Richard Thompson and his son Teddy, and Carol Harley and her daughter Laura in the band Misty River.
