A cautionary tale in comics form imagines a future where Donald Trump overturned the 2020 election

What if the pro-Trump insurrection at the Capitol had succeeded?  That's the question asked in 1/6: The Graphic Novel, a speculative spin on the real events of January 6, 2021.  Writers Gan Golan (The Adventures of Unemployed Man) and Alan Jenkins, a Harvard Law School professor, teamed up with artist Will Rosado of DC Comics fame to create this comic for the pro-democracy organization Western States Center.

Gan, Alan, and Will sit down with S.W. Conser to talk about the attacks on history education by right-wing ideologues, the rise of elctoral autocracies around the world, the continuing threat of violent extremists on the body politic, and the inspirations of writers Margaret Atwood and Octavia Butler on their creative work.
