Nancy Beiman is an author, artist, director, teacher, and writer who in 1979 became the first female graduate from the California Institute for the Arts' Character Animation program, and has been helping open doors for women artists ever since.
As a young animator in the early 1980's, Nancy began recording interviews with legendary artists from the early days of the Disney studio, including Art Babbitt and Selby Kelly, and uncovered stories of social and political struggle that had never been shared publicly.
Nancy worked and taught for decades across North America, Europe, and Australia. She's animated characters for Disney and Warner Brothers as well as her own company Caged Beagle Productions, and shared her knowledge in such popular instruction books as Animated Performance and Prepare to Board.
This is Part Two of a two-part conversation between Nancy and S.W. Conser. The audio for Part One can be found at this link.
