This week the Wednesday morning folk program Pastures of Plenty features a number of musicians who have recorded with Rounder Records over the years. The Nashville-based company released a four-CD set in 2010 - The Rounder Records Story.
The artists from that release in this program are Robert Plant and Alison Krauss (Please Read the Letter); Tish Hinojosa (Something in the Rain); Nanci Griffith (Once in a Very Blue Moon); Hazel Dickens (Mama's Hand); Alison Krauss and The Cox Familty (In the Palm of Your Hand); and Dailey and Vincent (More Than a Name on a Wall). Of course the 90-minute show has lots more folk music to enjoy, from the likes of Joni Mitchell, John McCutcheon, The Weavers, The Earl Scruggs Revue and Nina Gerber. If you haven't heard Mungo Jerry's In the Summertime lately, tune in early, it's gonna start the show. Recorded in London in 1970, it sold about 30 million copies.
